How I Met My Match

How I Met My Match

Alright, so here it goes. I was at that place in my life where all single women in their 30s started asking themselves the "what's the matter with me" question. I exercised daily, I had a great paying job, I lived in a beautiful duplex in a great neighborhood, I had a new Nissan truck, and a dog that loved life as much as I did. Can you tell what was missing? Right, the man of my dreams. What's more all my friends were either married, getting married, or in committed relationships.

Within a six to nine month period, invitations to spend time hanging out with my girlfriends and their significant others came less and less. When I was with them, I always felt like the third wheel. I didn't want someone just because of that, I genuinely wanted someone to share my life with.

I had gone through the years of my friends or their friends trying to set me up with others, and that did not work. If you would have met some of the men they tried to set me up with, you would not believe it. So, I was now at a place where I absolutely refused to see anyone they tried to set me up with. Either God was going to bless me with someone or I would always be single.

Lo and behold, one day I received an email from one of my friends forwarding a link to Match.com. As the months went by, I think I visited Match.com at least ten times per day. This was over eleven years ago and the internet was still fairly new to me. I was skeptical.

Needless to say, I did it. I went to Match.com. This is how I met my match. This is how I met the man of my dreams. On February 18th, and we will have been married eleven years. With Valentine's Day approaching, I just wanted to share this with anyone who might be wondering if it works. Well, the answer is yes. No, everyday isn't a bed of roses. What marriage is? But, we do love each other and we have two beautiful children. Some of my friends that were either married or committed relationships are now separated, divorced and/or broken up with their significant others.

If any of you can relate to my story, let me know, and give Match.com a try. You never know...
